Rod Hidlebaugh is an experienced physiotherapist at myBalance Dizziness Vertigo and Concussion Clinics, providing care for patients across North Queensland. With a strong background in musculoskeletal (MSK) and sports rehabilitation, Rod helps people recover from injury, improve balance, and manage complex vestibular conditions.
For over two decades, Rodney has honed his skills in orthopaedic assessment, manual therapy, and musculoskeletal treatment across Australia and Canada. He has worked with Olympic gold medallists, professional golfers, and even a 92-year-old lawn bowls athlete. His leadership roles have included managing multi-disciplinary teams, mentoring junior physiotherapists, and collaborating with orthopaedic surgeons, neurologists, ENT specialists, and GPs.
Since 2013, Rod has specialised in vestibular rehabilitation. As Director of the myBalance team, he is an active member of the Queensland Vestibular Network and attends the Neuro-Otology Society of Australia annual conference. This ensures he stays up to date with the best evidence in treating dizziness, vertigo, and concussion recovery and is attended by Neurologists, ENT’s, Neuro-Otologists, General Practitioners, Audiologists, and Physiotherapists.
This focus was inspired by a need for advanced care for patients who had been living with disabling balance disorders for years. Today, he works with neurologist and ENT referrals from across Northern Queensland, from straightforward cases to highly complex presentations.
Through his leadership at Dizziness Vertigo and Concussion Clinics, Rod works alongside skilled professionals committed to improving patient outcomes. He continues to expand his expertise through global training and provides mentorship in this fast-evolving field.
